The multi-player element in the game is also innovative. The game gets harder if tendency shifts to black. Tendency shifts to white if you defeat bosses, or shifts to black if you are killed in your "living body form". There are also world and character 'tendencies'. You are also able to switch between 2 sets of equipped weapons at any time. You can equip two swords at the same time or even two shields. The game allows you to mix and match different equipment types. Your character, for instance, can carry two weapons for each hand. The game is filled with many innovations.
